Who we serve

One provider across a whole life, not one stage of it.

Families rarely need help for a single year. We support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities from childhood into adulthood.

Growing up at home
Children

Growing up at home

Hands-on support with daily routines, self-care and school-day transitions, delivered in the family home so parents get real relief and children keep their routine.

Preparing for adult life
Adolescents & young adults

Preparing for adult life

Independent living skills, community access and the practical groundwork for the transition from special education into adult services and work.

Living their own life

In-home and residential supports with 24-hour staffing where it's needed, built to keep people in charge of their own choices, home and community.

Services

Six kinds of support, combined to fit one plan.

Most people we support use two or three of these together. Your support coordinator can authorise them individually or as a package.

Supportive in-home services

A Direct Support Professional works one-to-one in the person's own home on daily living skills, health routines and getting out into the community.

Person-centred practice

Everyone deserves to belong, to be loved, to be treated with dignity, to be self-directed, and to be recognised for their value as one particular person.

Every plan starts from the person's own strengths, preferences and goals, and every review asks whether their life actually got better.

Getting started

The waiver route, in the order it actually happens.

Virginia's DD Waiver process can be difficult to navigate the first time. We show where Guillory Health enters the process.

01

Contact your local CSB

Community Services Boards are the single point of entry for Virginia's DD Waivers. They determine eligibility and manage the waiting list. In our area that's Arlington, Fairfax–Falls Church, Loudoun or Prince William.

You do this first — not with us
02

Eligibility and a waiver slot

Eligibility rests on three things: diagnosis, functional need and financial criteria. Slots are released by urgency of need, so this stage can take time. Your CSB support coordinator will tell you which waiver you've been assigned.

03

Choose Guillory Health as your provider

You have the right to choose your provider. Tell your support coordinator you'd like Guillory Health Virginia, or send us a referral and we'll coordinate with them directly.

This is where we come in
